SUGAR, SUGAR
ENGLISH LYRICS
LETRA EN ESPAÑOL
Sugar, ahh,
Honey, honey.
You are my candy girl,
And you got me wanting you.
Honey, ahh,
Sugar, sugar.
You are my candy girl,
And you got me wanting you.

I just can't believe the loveliness
of loving you.
(I just can't believe it's true)
I just can't believe the wonder
of this feeling, too.
(I just can't believe it's true)
Ahh, sugar, ahh,
Honey, honey.
You are my candy girl,
and you got me wanting you.
Ahh, honey, ahh,
Sugar, sugar.
You are my candy girl,
and you got me wanting you.
When I kissed you, girl,
I knew how sweet a kiss could be.
(I knew how sweet a kiss could be)
Like the summer sunshine,
pour your sweetness over me.
(Pour your sweetness over me)
Ohh, pour your sugar on me, honey.
Pour your sugar on me, baby.
(I'm gonna make your life so sweet)
Yeah, yeah, yeah,
Pour your sugar on me, oh yeah.
Pour your sugar on me, honey.
Pour your sugar on me, baby.
(I'm gonna make your life so sweet)
Yeah, yeah, yeah,
Pour your sugar on me, honey.
Ahh, sugar, ahh,
Honey, honey.
You are my candy girl,
And you got me wanting you.
Ohhh, honey, honey.
Sugar, sugar.
Honey, honey.
Sugar, sugar.
Honey, ahh,
Sugar, sugar.
You are my candy girl,
and you got me wanting you.
Azúcar, ahh,
Miel, Miel.
Tú eres mi chica dulce,
Y me tienes queriéndote
Miel, ahh,
Azúcar, azúcar.
Tú eres mi chica dulce ,
Y me tienes queriéndote

Simplemente no puedo creer la belleza
de amarte.
(No puedo creer que sea verdad)
Simplemente no puedo creer la maravilla
de este sentimiento, también.
(No puedo creer que sea verdad)
Ahh, el azúcar, ahh,
Miel, Miel.
Tú eres mi chica dulce ,
y me tienes queriéndote
Ahh, cariño, ahh,
Azúcar, azúcar.
Tú eres mi chica dulce ,
y me tienes queriéndote

Miel, miel
Tú eres mi muchacha del caramelo,
Y me tienes queriéndote
Ohhh, miel, miel.
Azúcar, azúcar.
miel, miel.
Azúcar, azúcar.
Miel, ahh,
Azúcar, azúcar.
Tú eres mi chica dulce ,
y me tienes queriéndote.

SPEEDY GONZALES
ENGLISH LYRICS
LETRA EN ESPAÑOL

It was a moonlight night in Old Mexico. I walked alone between some old adobe haciendas. Suddenly, I heard the plaintive cry of a young Mexican girl:
La la la,
la la la la la la la la,
la la la la la la la la,
la la la la la la la la.

You better come home
Speedy Gonzales,
away from tannery row.
Stop all of your drinking with that floozy named Flo!
Come on home to your adobe and slap some mud on the wall!
The roof is leaking like a strainer.
There's loads of roaches in the hall.
[La la la la]

Speedy Gonzales
Why don't you come home?
Speedy Gonzales,
How come you leave me all alone?
"Hey, Rosita, I have to go shopping downtown for my mother, she needs some Tortillas and Chilli Pepper!"

[La la la la]

Your dog is gonna have a puppy,
and we're running out of Coke.
No enchiladas in the icebox,
and the television's broke.
I saw some lipstick on your sweatshirt,
I smell some perfume in your ear.
Well, if you're gonna keep on ‘messin’,
don't bring your business back a-here.
[La la la la]

Mmm, Speedy Gonzales
Why don't you come home?
Speedy Gonzales
How come you leave me all alone?

"He, Rosita, come quick! Down at the cantina, they're giving green stamps with Tequila!"

Mmm, Speedy Gonzales
Por qué no vienes a casa?
Speedy Gonzales,

[La la la la]

TWIN SONGS: SIMPLE SIMON (GB) AND YANKEE DOODLE (USA)

SIMPLE SIMON

KARAOKE VERSION

"Simple Simon met a pieman going to the fair;
"El tonto Simón se encontró un pastelero yendo a la feria;
Said Simple Simon to the pieman "Let me taste your ware"
Said the pieman to Simple Simon "Show me first your penny"
Said Simple Simon to the pieman "Sir, I have not any!"

Simple Simon went a-fishing for to catch a whale;
El tonto Simón se fue de pesca para atrapar una ballena;
All the water he had got was in his mother's pail.
Simple Simon went to look if plums grew on a thistle;
El tonto Simón fue a mirar si las ciruelas crecen en un cardo;
He pricked his fingers very much which made poor Simon whistle.
He went for water in a sieve but soon it all fell through;
Fue a buscar agua en un colador, pero enseguida toda se esparció;
And now poor Simple Simon, bids you all "Adieu"

YANKEE DOODLE

KARAOKE VERSION

Yankee Doodle went to town,
Riding on a Pony,
Stuck a feather in his cap,
And called him Macaroni,
Yankee Doodle fue a la ciudad,
Cabalgando sobre un pony;
En su sombrero una pluma colocó,
y macarroni le llamó.
Yankee Doodle keep it up,
Yankee Doodle Dandy,
Mind the music and the step,
And with the girls be handy.
Yankee Doodle, sigue así,
señor Yankee Doodle;
Recuerda la música y los pasos,
¡Y con las chicas sé gentil!
Father and I went down to camp,
Along with Captain Gooding,
And there we saw the men and boys,
Thick as Hasty Pudding
Papá y yo fuimos a un campamento
junto con el Capitán Gooding
y allí vimos a los hombres y niños
tan gordos como pudings.
Yankee Doodle keep it up,
Yankee Doodle Dandy,
Mind the music and the step,
And with the girls be handy.
Yankee Doodle, sigue así,
señor Yankee Doodle;
Recuerda la música y los pasos,
¡Y con las chicas sé gentil!
There was Captain Washington,
Upon a slapping stallion,
Giving orders to his men,
I guess there were a million.
Allí estaba el Capitán Washington
sobre un semental fustigado
dando órdenes a sus hombres
creo que eran un millón.
Yankee Doodle keep it up,
Yankee Doodle Dandy,
Mind the music and the step,
And with the girls be handy.
Yankee Doodle, sigue así,
señor Yankee Doodle;
Recuerda la música y los pasos,
¡Y con las chicas sé gentil!

Various European countries claim the original of the tune we know as Yankee Doodle, and it was the British who brought it to America during the French and Indian Wars. The opening words of the song refer to the fact that when Oliver Cromwell rode horseback into Oxford in 1653 he wore a hat decorated with a single feather fastened by an elaborate knot — an Italian decoration called a "macaroni." The British troops used the song and the term sarcastically, to ridicule the makeshift appearance of the dress of American Colonial troops. When the Revolution began, the Americans adopted the song as a rallying tune, and it was played by fifers and drummers in every camp and battle. At the British surrender at Yorktown on Oct. 19, 1781, the American army band played Yankee Doodle to celebrate the American victory and so it became one of the best wellknown patriotic USsongs.
